National Traveller MABS works to ensure that policy makers and service providers are informed by the experience and situation of Travellers.
National Traveller MABS works directly with the Traveller Community to establish evidence of issues which prevent the full participation of Travellers in society.
This is undertaken in tandem with our Community Education and National Support and Development work to ensure that we present a true account of Traveller experience. NTMABS also meets regularly with our Consultative Forum, a panel of Travellers that advise us on issues pertaining to the community. Additionally we liaise and work with other bodies representing Travellers and other marginalised groups.
We work within the structures of MABS and our funding body, the Citizens Information Board, to highlight ways to ensure a fully inclusive society. We lobby policy makers at national and local level to implement changes in policy and practice which impact negatively on such groups.
