Today National Traveller MABS staff met with Senator Eileen Flynn and Jennifer Carroll MacNeill T.D. & Minister of State for Financial Services, Credit Unions and Insurance. The meeting was very productive and the Minister was very interested and engaged with the discussion in a very open manner.
After the meeting Minister Carroll MacNeill showed National Traveller MABS around the Department of Finance building and introduced them to Minister for Finance Michael McGrath.
It was the first time that National Traveller MABS staff had been able to meet with a Minister from the Department of Finance and we hope to be able to build on this initial meeting and work together to work toward the financial inclusion of Irish Travellers.
